TWNC Tampilkan Keindahan Alam Indonesia di WOW Indonesia 2024 Washington D.C.

Washington D.C., 25 Agustus 2024 – Dalam rangka merayakan 75 tahun hubungan diplomatik antara Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat, Festival WOW Indonesia 2024 berhasil menarik perhatian ribuan pengunjung di Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington D.C. Salah satu sorotan utama dari festival ini adalah partisipasi Tambling Wildlife Nature Conservation (TWNC), yang sukses mempromosikan upaya konservasi alam Indonesia kepada audiens internasional.

TWNC, yang beroperasi di ujung selatan Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan, Lampung, menggunakan kesempatan ini untuk memperkenalkan pentingnya pelestarian satwa liar dan hutan di Indonesia. Stan TWNC menarik minat besar dari pengunjung yang ingin memahami lebih dalam tentang perlindungan spesies langka, terutama harimau Sumatra, serta bagaimana program rehabilitasi hutan mereka berhasil melibatkan masyarakat lokal dalam menjaga kelestarian alam.

Festival ini juga dimeriahkan oleh berbagai kegiatan, termasuk parade budaya kolaboratif, pertunjukan musik tradisional dan modern, serta lokakarya seni dan kerajinan. Kehadiran Jember Fashion Carnaval, reog, gamelan, tarian Aceh, hingga kulintang memberikan warna tersendiri dalam perayaan ini. Pengunjung juga disuguhi demo memasak dan hidangan khas Indonesia seperti sate dan nasi Padang, yang membuat mereka rela antre berjam-jam.

Acara ini semakin istimewa dengan kehadiran sejumlah tokoh penting seperti Menteri Luar Negeri Indonesia, Retno Marsudi, Menteri Koperasi dan UKM, Teten Masduki, serta Wishnutama, yang mendukung komitmen Indonesia untuk memperkuat hubungan bilateral sekaligus mempromosikan konservasi alam.

Dalam wawancara khusus, Kuasa Usaha Ad-Interim KBRI Washington D.C., Ida Bagus Made Bimantara, menyatakan bahwa festival ini memberikan kesempatan bagi warga Amerika untuk “mengunjungi Indonesia tanpa paspor.” Marcia Bernicat, pejabat dari Departemen Luar Negeri AS, juga memuji acara ini sebagai simbol kuatnya hubungan antarwarga kedua negara.

TWNC Showcases Indonesia’s Natural Beauty at WOW Indonesia 2024 Washington D.C.

Washington D.C., August 25, 2024 – To celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the United States, the WOW Indonesia 2024 Festival drew thousands of visitors to Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Among the festival’s highlights was the participation of Tambling Wildlife Nature Conservation (TWNC), which successfully brought Indonesia’s conservation efforts to the attention of an international audience.

TWNC, based in the southern tip of Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park in Lampung, took this opportunity to showcase the importance of wildlife and forest conservation in Indonesia. Their booth captivated many visitors eager to learn more about the protection of endangered species, particularly the Sumatran tiger, and how their forest rehabilitation programs have effectively involved local communities in preserving nature.

The festival was also enlivened by various activities, including collaborative cultural parades, traditional and modern musical performances, and arts and crafts workshops. The vibrant presence of the Jember Fashion Carnaval, reog performances, gamelan, Acehnese dances, and kulintang added a rich cultural tapestry to the celebration. The event was made even more special by the attendance of key figures such as Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, and Wishnutama, all of whom supported Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties while promoting environmental conservation.

In an exclusive interview, Ida Bagus Made Bimantara, the Charge d’Affaires at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C., remarked that the festival offered Americans the chance to “visit Indonesia without a passport.” Marcia Bernicat, a senior official from the U.S. State Department, praised the event as a powerful symbol of the close ties between the people of both nations.

TWNC’s involvement in the festival not only showcased the natural beauty of Indonesia but also highlighted the critical role of environmental conservation as a key aspect of the broader diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and the United States.
